Melted Crayons

Melted Crayons

Melted Crayons is my ode to childhood afternoons spent with waxy fingers and big ideas. I lined up real crayons along the top of a crisp canvas, then coaxed them with heat until rivers of color began to pour - each hue dripping and mingling in its own unruly way.

The frozen cascades catch light and cast tiny shadows, giving the piece a wonderfully tactile feel. It's playful enough for a kids' room or classroom, yet graphic enough to brighten a studio or office.

Every melt behaves differently, so what you see here is a one-time performance, captured in mid-flow.
