I built the Stoned Birdhouse as if a tiny woodland architect had been at work. Smooth river stones form the rounded walls, each one set by hand into a masonry-style mosaic of creams, grays, ambers, and russet tones.
Above, hundreds of pinecone scales overlap into a conical roof that looks like a fairy-tale cottage, glossy as if kissed by morning dew.
A small red stone "perch" adds a playful wink beneath the entry hole. Tuck it on a mantel, in a sunroom, or on a protected porch to bring a bit of enchanted forest charm into everyday view.
